My mom’s best friends has a huge fig tree in her back yard. We went and picked some figs. I got eaten alive by mosquitoes– but the figs we were worth the attack.
Figs are delicate and you can get your fill by eating them fresh. I didn’t have enough to make a preserve so I made a light desert.
Balsamic, basil, brown sugar on halved figs. Carmelize under the broiler and serve with ice cream or solo.
